Compassionate Jesus Nain.

Jesus Raises the Son of a Widow in the city of Nain.

The story of the widow of Nain whose son Jesus raised from the dead, is only told in the gospel of Luke 7:11-17. The story of the widow’s son is a powerful reminder that our Father is extremely compassionate, whose powers are limitless.

After Jesus healed the centurion’s servant in Capernaum, He traveled to the city of Nain, but as He approached the gates of the city, He saw a funeral procession.

Jesus was moved with compassion as He approached the funeral procession and spoke to the dead man. The young man who had died was a widow’s only son, and a large crowd from the village was with the dead man’s mother to comfort her.

When the Lord saw her, His heart overflowed with compassion, said, “Do not cry!” the bearers stopped while Jesus touched the coffin. “Young man,” He said, “I tell you, get up.” Then the dead boy sat up and began to talk! And Jesus gave him back to his mother. Luke 7:11-15.

Jesus is so compassionate He could not walk away but stopped what He was doing to offer her a word of comfort, and joy. A loving Father.

“Do not cry,” He said, but He did not end the conversation there. He took specific actions to stop her tears, He spoke life to the widow’s son and raised him from the dead. Jesus resuscitated the young man.

Please help others in their faith, those who have doubt, let them be encouraged. It is very painful for a child to die, the child you hope will one day care for you, but we must trust the Lord, who is our Door of Hope. As mankind, we must trust in the loving compassion of the Lord, we must not loose hope even when there is despair.

The Lord is always there to bring life to dead situations, the dead and dry bones will surely gain flesh and live again, but we must pray before going to sleep, knowing that the Lord will call us to life the next day, to do good and focus on Him.

Amen!!
