“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.” 1st John 2:15-16)
Brothers and sisters, pride is of the devil. We cannot love and lust for the things in the world, and ignore the Father who is the Creator of all things, it is idolatry. The love of the (world) vanity things that take our focus from the LORD. For example, luxury cars and homes, much clothing, jewelries, and so on.
Matthew 4:8-10 tells us about Jesus’ answer when He was tempted by Satan in the wilderness. “The devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”
Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your GOD, and Him only you shall serve.”
Do we truly love the LORD as He loves us? The One who carried the cross because of love? The One who bore all our diseases in His body on the tree? (The cross?) Do we truly trust in Him? and hope in Him?
Please love one another as GOD instructs us, for 1st John 4:7-8 tells us that “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of GOD; for GOD is love.” Do not only look out for yourselves but others. For the book of Philippians 2:4 declares that “Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” And “Let no one seek his own, but each one the other’s well-being.” 1st Corinthians 10-24).
FOR GOD IS LOVE.
PEACE! Hallelujah!!
