Coming of the Holy Spirit.
Before Jesus ascended into heaven, He spoke to His disciples saying, “you have heard from Me, for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with Holy Spirit not many days from now.” (Acts 1:5). Jesus also promised the disciples saying, “you shall receive power (the power of the Holy Spirit) “when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the world.” (Acts 1:8). Scripture Affirm. “A cloud received Jesus out of their sight.” Hallelujah!
After Jesus ascended, the disciples returned to Jerusalem from Mount Olivet, they went to the upper room where they “continued with one accord in prayer and supplication.” (To plead humbly). (Acts 1:14)
The disciples needed to replace Judas who betrayed Jesus, so they prayed, and Matthias was chosen, for the Scriptures to be fulfilled. Everything was done in unity.
According to the Scriptures, “When the Day of Pentecost has fully come, they were all in one accord in one place, suddenly there came a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the whole house, and the Bible talks about divided tongues as of fire that sat upon each of them, they were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave utterance. (speech).
At that time in Jerusalem, there were people from other nations, about 17 different nations, and they were all amazed because they heard the disciples spoke different languages. (Each heard them speak their own language), but some of the people mocked the disciples that they have taken wine. (But they had the New Wine of the Holy Spirit).” (Acts 2:1-13).
Apostle Peter stood up and said, we have not taken any wine for it was still early in the day, Apostle Peter said, repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, so that day, about 3 thousand repented and was added to them. The disciples continued in fellowshipping with one another, (1st John 1:7) they continued the good works, and also fellowship with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, with one accord in prayer and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all people.
Brothers and sisters, what happened to the church today? Why is the church not united? Why is the church not as united as the early church (the Apostles) who prayed in one accord, who waited for the Holy Spirit before making decisions, love, and unity, why is it that the church does not have patient to wait on the Holy Spirit? Why is the Church divided? Some ministries preach what they please, interpret the Scriptures the way that pleases them? How about Jesus? What happened to one accord?
Jesus said, carry your cross and follow Me, can we just follow Jesus. He did not say buy 5 or 6 private jets and follow Me.
Why is the church focused on tithes and offerings, first fruits, red carpets, and private jets? 3, 4, 5 jets? luxury cars for their 9 years old children? While all around them is poverty. Are these included in the Great Commission? Why do we have to forsake Jesus? He is very upset.
Brothers and sisters, it is all about Jesus, not I nor you. Jesus is the Way, the only Way to the Father. He is the Door, there is no other Door, no corner door, He is the Light of mankind, the Author of life.
He is calling, can you hear Him? Please repent of all your sins and follow Jesus-our only Door of Hope, Our Savior who willingly surrendered Himself to be crucified so that we can have a relationship with the Father. The One who carried the cross for the sake of love, was whipped for the sake of love, flesh thorn apart, shed His blood, bruised jaw, and head, nailed pierced hands, feet, and much more, for the sake of love.
Everything we need or desire is in Him, Jesus has it all. He said, “ask anything in His name, He will give it to you so that your joy may be full.” (John 16:22). He is our Father. Precious sweet Jesus.
In Conclusion:
Please turn away from your wicked evil ways because God is Holy, ask Jesus to help you, He will help you because of His Faithfulness and mercy, for it is written, “Lord help me to put off concerning my former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lust, and to be renewed in the spirit of my mind, and put on the new man which was created to God in true righteousness and holiness.” (Ephesians 4:22-24).
Please turn away from all wickedness, hatred, and gossiping.
What have you been able to let go in your character or behavior?
Have you been able to let go of pride?
Have you been able to let go of lies? Verbal abuse?
Have you been able to let go of your condescending ways? (Be a new creation in Christ Jesus. (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Please brothers and sisters, Jesus said, love one another as I have loved you, can we do as He says? Forgive everyone that has hurt you, forgiveness is for you and not for them. So please, let go and ask Jesus to help you, He will help you.
The Holy Spirit said in one of my meetings in Bangalore, India, “I am One crying in the wilderness for forgiveness.” Unforgiveness will hinder you, it will open doors for the enemies to attack you, to dwell in you, so please let go. Amen.
