Unbelieving Friends and Family

Brothers and sisters, when God calls you for service, some of your family and friends will gossip, abuse, and remind you of your past. Will you listen to them? Will you get angry? Will you stop serving the Lord because you have been rejected and abused by your family and friends? Please ignore them and focus on Jesus who truly matters, for it is all about Him, our Rock.

Some individuals who said they are my friends reminded me of my past, some family members are still in shock, disbelieve, and truly angry. Do I care about their anger and disbelieve? No! I will focus on my Lord and My God who brought me out of darkness into His marvelous light and call me His servant. Please brothers and sisters, do the same, ignore them and serve the Lord your God.

Scripture tells us, for even Jesus’ brothers doubted Him. “For even His own brothers did not believe in Him.” (John 7:5) (NIV). They were in disbelieve; they just could not believe that He was sent from God.

Jesus went to His hometown to teach, because of His wisdom and miracles, His own rejected Him. “Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.” (Mark 6:3).

John 6:42 declares, “And they said, is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that He saith, I came down from heaven?” They took offense. How can He perform these miracles?

When the Lord lifts you up, even your family will be in great doubt filled with anger and disbelieve.

Please remember brothers and sisters, whatever they did to Jesus, they will do the same to you, even worse. So please, ignore the abusers, and focus on Jesus.

Amen!
